If you don’t have time to read all 304 here are some of the major reasons the top pilots in the US all fly the Flat Top.  Safety is huge, with the kevlar netting it offers the maximum protection to keep you out of the prop.  Numerous people have been chopped up on other brands after getting into their own prop.  The Flat Top is currently the only unit on the market to really address that safety issue affectively.  With the strongest but lightest cage design and kevlar netting that doesn’t stretch you won’t end up in the hospital missing a hand from a simple fall or forward launch.  Next is the crumple zone on the Flat Top.  With 16 inches of crumple zone under the pilots butt it is designed to safety absorb even a full stall into the ground.  One of the great things about certified paragliders is that even in a stall they only fall about 20 feet per second.  That’s about like jumping from a one story house roof.  If you were to land on your butt without protection you would very likely be injured or killed just as many have on other brands of paramotors.  With the Flat Top though imagine jumping off a house roof but landing on an aluminum lawn chair.  The Flat Top crushes to absorb the impact.  Zero serious injuries or deaths have ever occured on a Flat Top and it certianly isn’t for a lack of trying.  We all do stupid stuff from time to time and it is really nice to know your equipment is designed to save your butt.  Literally. 

 

Durability is huge.  Pretty much every other unit on the market will self destruct if you fall down.  Most units take as little as 2-3 lbs of pressure to flex the cage & netting into the prop so when you fall down the cage flexes back into the prop and the whole thing explodes on top of you.  The Flat Top is incredibly strong.  You can see from the videos that you can fall down and do all sorts of crazy things on the Flat Top and still be ready to fly.  It is no fun to take a minor slip and have it cost you a boatload of time and money.  To date only 1 prop strike has ever been reported on a Flat Top.  That is 1 total for all Flat Tops on the market and only after being attached to an outdated trike design that flipped over in a crash.  With units other than the Flat Top the average is that in your first year of learning to fly you will get prop strikes 2-3 times.  That is a ton of money in parts and lots of time not flying while waiting to repair your unit.  The Flat Top is over 100 times stronger than many other units and it makes a huge difference.

 

Performance bows to the Flat Top.  It is by far the most powerful unit on the market while also being the quietest and lightest in it’s class.  You can see from the thrust tests and noise test done by our competitors that the Flat Top is the best.  Now since that test where it tied for second quietest we have actually improved the thrust while reducing the noise so it is now officially the quietest paramotor on the market and even farther ahead than everything else in power.  Plus with our new Flat Top Evo… lol, the power of the Flat Top is so far beyond anything else it makes all competitors look like child’s toys.

 

Facts are facts and very easy to verify.  Many people claim many things so feel free to verify any of this.  With a simple thrust tester you can compare actual thrust, with an inexpensive Db meter you can prove noise levels.  An easy way to check durability is with the motor off you put one hand on the prop and one hand on the netting on a paramotor and try to flex them together.  The harder they are the bring together the less likely the unit is to self destruct when you fall down.  You can see from pictures and video the Flat Top will hold your entire bodyweight on the netting.  The bottom line is the Flat Top is the best designed and engineered unit on the market.

 

 

Thrust tester, altitude and conditions are all different so the actual numbers are not what are as important as they will change depending on the different variables but the comparison between the units is what is most useful.  The Flat Top configuration is completely beyond anything else on the market offering by far the most power AND the least noise as you can see from Table 2.  This level of excellence is not easy to achieve, the Flat Top is the most advanced paramotor in the world today.

This test was conducted by our competitors with a Db meter and using a thrust tester to ensure all units were putting out equal thrust to give the most fair and equal comparison to all units.  Equals for equals the Flat Top is the quietest unit in it’s class.  The only unit that was 1 Db quieter put out only 98 lbs of thrust at full throttle as you can see from Table 1.  We offer that powerplant as well but only for pilots weighing under 140 lbs as it doesn’t have an acceptable level of thrust for larger pilots.
