Paramotor Training
We have the largest Paramotor instructor network in the USA with training in all 50 states.
That being said, our first recommendation would be to hop a plane and travel to our mastery training sites for the absolute ultimate paramotor training. The better your training the more fun you will have and the safer you will be. A paraglider is quite incredible in the fact that you can almost completely learn how to fly it without ever leaving the ground. With 5-25mph smooth winds you can fly it over your head like a kite and completely master the controls before you ever leave the ground. Once you learn how to fly you don’t need wind at all and even as a beginner you can fly in conditions anywhere from 0-15mph winds with proper training and equipment. While learning though we need extremely consistent and smooth air for kiting the glider. One of the best places on earth to get the most consitently smooth air is at very specific beaches along the west coast of the United States. In Ohio for example you might only get 45 minutes a day of smooth consistent conditions 4 days a week. So the reality is with our master instructors on the perfect beaches we can give you at least 10 times the quality of training that you can most other places. What we can do in a week might simply not be possible in 6 month most other places in the world.
So for the ultimate SUPER TRAINING we pick the perfect location and most optimal weather depending on the time of year we go. So even in December & January we can enjoy 75 degree beautiful sunny days on the beach. Nothing quite compares to learning to fly in paradise and flying up and down some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The cost is only $2500 per person and it includes lodging and transport every day. All you do is fly into the airport we specify, we pick you up, and drive you to and from training every day and then drop you off again. First class service for world class pilot training. Most of the places we stay even include breakfast in the morning so some of your meals may even be covered. It’s a wonderful vacation in itself and you go home with the absolute best training currently available on planet earth.
Also since you are training with the Paramotor World Champion, National Kiting Champion and Tandem Instructor Administrator if you progress quickly enough in your skills we can work towards your instructor rating and possibly have you up to speed as an instructor apprentice but it depends on how quickly you pick it up as everyone progresses differently. Once you do achieve instructor level on this course or the next you will be automatically setup as a dealer so you can then resell equipment and training to others. There are numerous ways to make an income in this rapidly growing market. Sales of gear and training, tandem instructional flights, sponsorships, exhibitions, marketing, arial videography & photography, Search & Rescue… these are just a few of the ways to make your hobby into a profitable occupation. To best benefit from the sport you will want to train with the very best and start from the top.

$1500 USHPA P2
The USHPA – United States HandGliding and Paragliding Association (not to be confused with the usppa scam which promotes people as instructors who have never had a day of proper training in their life), has been the standard for close to 40 years. All the best pilots in the USA have gone through training with USHPA Certified instructors. With over 70 instructors in our network we have instructors all over the US including Alaska and Hawaii. Give us a call to see where the best USHPA Certified instructors are in your area. 800-707-2525 or 801-631-1731
$975 Basic P2
Here at the Point Of The Mountain in Draper Utah we have over 20 local paragliding schools to choose from. This helps drive down prices which we can use to help our customers get the best deal possible. So if you can come to Utah we can get you the very best price available with a true USHPA Certified instructor. The Point Of The Mountain is one of the largest and best free flying paragliding sites in the world with 2 different State Paragliding Parks. So if you need to keep the price as low as possible but don’t want to die then this would be the best option.
$50 Per Tow Maneuvers Courses
Once you learn how to fly and get some experience under your belt you will definitely want to take a maneuvers clinic with one of our world class coaches. We tow you up over water with a paragliding harness (no motor) and while you glide back down we walk you through on radio how to do numerous different manevuers and how to respond to different safety scenarios. This will increase your confidence and understanding of your paraglider by about 10 fold and is highly recommended after you are a trained pilot. It is very important to ONLY do these courses with true professionals. We only work with the best of best so give us a call and we can help arrange one of the most valuable experienced of your flying career.
$300 Crash Course
Yes sadly because of the usppa scam run by atheist leader Jeff Goin, there are many people out there posing as instructors offering “free instruction” or low prices such as $300 - $750 on 1-3 day training courses. Some suggest if you purchase equipment through them that they will “throw in the training for free” or give you large discounts on the training. Properly training a new pilot to an extremely high level of skill, knowledge & safety requires an enourmous amount of time. There are hundreds of little details, most of which can only be taught by true master pilots and every one of them could be key in saving your life. Training is NOT a place to save some money. It is so important we keep training and equipment prices completely separate. Every little detail to training could save you more than the cost of training in saving you from broken equipment or injuries. Paragliding and Paramotoring is very simple but ONLY if you learn all the tips, tricks and secrets from a master. It is similar to a puzzle, it could take you 40 years to figure it out on your own but if we show you all the tips & tricks up front you will be 40 years ahead of the game. Aviation is NOT something you want to learn by trial and error because the error part can get you seriously injured & killed. In the usppa scam people are seriously injured & killed on a regular basis in all the same ways over and over and over. People chop their hands off in the props, break their backs in falls, drown when they go in the water, snap their necks on face plants… all because of a failure to learn from other people’s mistakes. If you don’t count the usppa scam self training types of injuries or the few crazy acro pilots on uncertied gliders or doing low level crazy acrobatic maneuvers; ZERO PEOPLE HAVE EVER BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED IN THIS SPORT. If you do count the crazy insane wild pilots flying like lunatics only 3 injuries have ever happened and all of them are still pilots as of 3/3/2011. The safety level of the sport is absolutely incredible ONLY if you get the proper equipment and training. So if you don’t think you can afford the very best training, then either save up until you can or pick another sport. These skills are also not something you can learn from a book or video. That would be like trying to become a martial arts master from a book or video. Most of the books and videos on the market were actually done by novice pilots just trying to make a quick buck at your expense. Don’t buy any of them until you talk with a true master pilot who can help you choose the right material and point you in the right direction.
$25 Self Training Package (Includes Get well card & flowers sent to room or next of kin)
Back in the 1970s pretty much everyone was self trained. That’s why still today the sport has a horribly bad reputation for injury & death. Although the equipment is now vastly superior, if you actually GET the superior equipment, if you self train you will still have a similar injury & death risk that they did in the 1970s. This sport is incredible!! Yes you can actually fly and do the things you see in our videos. IF, and that’s a big IF, you get the best training and equipment. If you don’t get the best training and equipment then you will NOT experience the fun and awesome capability this sport has to offer. About 95% of those that don’t get really good quality equipment and instruction will quit the sport or get injured and quit the sport. The very best way to be the very most successful in this sport is simple; find the world’s best pilots that also have the ability to successfully pass on those skills and do what ever it takes to train with them and listen to their advice. Watch videos of both the instructor you are interested in training with and the students they have trained. The best of the best are very very easy to spot.

U-Turn USA and powered paragliding has once again almost taken the aviation world into the realms of science fiction. Paragliding is sometimes known as paramotoring and it is a form of ultralight aviation. The pilot wears a small motor on his/her back called a paramotor and energetically runs into the air producing lift from a paraglider wing. Powered paragliding differs from powered parachuting in that powered paragliders use an extremely efficient wing which aids the lifting process. U-Turn USA’s innovative wing allows the small and light motor to be carried on the pilot’s back for a running foot launch but does necessitate a more experienced and competent handling.
The ever-increasing popularity of the sport of powered paragliding is probably due to the low, slow flowing capacity and the totally free and open-air sensation that the pilot does not experience with a conventional light aircraft. Compact and lightweight portability and low and affordable costs of the maintenance of the equipment are major advantages for U-Turn USA and its powered paragliding machine’s enthusiastic sporting participants. The paramotor weighs anywhere between forty-five and eighty pounds, easily enabling the pilot to wear and support it on his/her back during during the lift-off phase. With an enthusiastic but brief run the wing will lift the motor and the harnessed pilot successively.
After this simple take-off the pilot eases him/herself into the seat that was folded during the launch and comfortably sits back while suspended below the inflated paraglider wing. Utilising the brake “toggles” in each hand together with a hand-held throttle control of the powered paraglider is simplistically available. U-Turn USA have designed and produced a powered paraglider that can fly at speeds between fifteen and forty-five miles per hour. Altitudes of eighteen thousand feet can be attained but just about all flying is kept at below five hundred feet above ground level.
In several countries, including the United States, this powered paragliding sport is minimally regulated. No license or specific course of training is essential either in the United States or the United Kingdom. Receiving instruction and advice from a seasoned and professional powered paragliding instructor is highly recommended by U-Turn USA Those countries that do require authentic certification often solicit the use of non-governmental ultralight organizations for this purpose. A pilot of a powered paragliding machine could invest between one to four weeks getting through the syllabus required by most organizations.
With special gear U-Turn USA has made possible the taking “on board” of a second person but few countries, including the United States, would countenance this tandem flying without some form of instruction and certification. Lightweight carts or “trikes” can be mounted on powered paragliders for the further enjoyment of those pilots who prefer not to foot-launch or for those who for some reason are unable to. Research has produced statistics to show that powered paragliding is safer than riding a motorcycle. Some pilots even carry a spare parachute that is designed to open from as little as fifty feet. U-Turn USA together with its powered paraglider has made possible the means for almost anyone to follow the age-old dream of man to fly.
